Numerology is often a difficult form of divination to accurately describe. This is due to that fact that over the centuries the methods used (as well as the principles behind) this act of fortune telling has changed quite a bit.

But in most Occult circles it is still used as a way of reading numbers that show up either in a continuing pattern over an extended course of time, or as part of a reading that involves the date, time, and place of a person's birth. It shows the ebb and flow of events, and the way current situations will probably affect you over the coming months, along that path.

Most commonly you will see:

0 – The number representing everything, both, out, and around known existence. It is an all encompassing number that in it's most literal state means 'all'.

1- A dominant number that often speaks directly of, or to, an individual. It is a highly masculine number, very aggressive historically, and also signifies creation, and unity with yourself and a higher power.

2 – A traditionally feminine number, and a direct counter to the aggressive nature of 1. It is a number of cooperation and diplomacy, of solutions to hard problems, and of fruitfulness in ones life.

3 – A trinity of events, circumstances, or even luck. A number of things coming together, and often a sign of coming success. 4 – A number that directly represents the element Earth, 4 stands for reliability and steadfastness.

5 – The most aggressive of the numbers, 5 usually represents men and sexuality, as well as change. When 5 is a common theme, it usually warns of a sudden drastic shift on the horizon.

6 – The perfect number in numerology, 6 stands for complete harmony, and is often associated with issues of love, marriage, and family.

7 – Representing spirituality, 7 often stands for someone who seeks knowledge on all things, including themselves. It can also show a desperate need for serious introspection.

8 – A largely material based number, 8 stands for business, commerce, and money. Those who have this number as a inherent part of their personality profile do well in market-related careers.

9 – A number of passion and compassion, this number traditionally means to be in tune with those around you. It also shows a connection with those close to you.

10 – This number is a mixture of 0 and 1, and represents perfection and unity of forces. It is nothing and everything, a complete balance, and a sign of new ventures that require creativity and independence.

11 – A personal of great spirituality is represented by 11. It also shows a desire to help and love your fellow man. The number of the teacher or leader.

12 – This number usually shows someone who is stubborn, set in their ways, and obsessed with perfection. 22 – The final number is 22, referred to as the Master Number, or Master Builder. It is a number representing a revolutionary person or action, with the ability to change the world, or create their own.
